Hi, I’m Leopoldo Osio
Venezuelan/Irish pianist and composer Leopoldo Osio is considered one of the strongest
pianists on the Irish Jazz scene. His style combines his Latin American roots with an original
rhythmic voice deeply rooted in the Jazz legacy .
He has attended Music Colleges in Venezuela, Brazil and Ireland, where he was awarded a
Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance (Hons) in 2010. He also performed and toured with
some of his country’s most accomplished musicians, prior to moving to Ireland.
One of the highlights of his career includes a performance with his own band CEO Experiment
along with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Michael Buckley in front of a full house at the Sugar Club in
Dublin.
Performances with International Artists include Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lewis Nash Jeremy Pelt,
Curtis Fowlkes, Paul Booth, Ryan Quigley, Cyrille Aimee, Nicolas Folmer, Pierre Bertrand and
have shared the stage with some of the greatest contemporary Jazz acts such as Christian
Scott, Cory Henry, Tom Rainey,Dave Douglas and Azymuth.
Over the last 15 years, he has performed and been part of several projects in Ireland such as
CEO Experiment, Ronan Guilfoyle's Tudo Bem, Conor Guilfoyle's Havana Che and Conclave,
Paul Dunlea Quintet, Michael Buckley's residence at Bruxelles, Phisqa, Dublin City Jazz
Orchestra, Next Experiment among many others.
International Jazz Festivals and Clubs include Bratislava Jazz Days 2014 and Lucenec
Jazzove Listie in Slovakia, Music al Carrer and Cafe Mercedes Jazz in Valencia-Spain, Forte
Jazz Club and The Vniigaz Auditorium in Moscow-Russia, Sindikat Jazz Club and Ao Vivo in
Sao Paulo-Brazil, Jazz al Parque Festival in Colombia, Teatro Zitarrosa in Uruguay, Nagua-
Nagua Jazz Festival, El Hatillo Jazz Festival and Festival de Jazz en el Orinoco in Venezuela.
