Meaning five in Quechua, a native Peruvian language, is not only a collaboration of five International Jazz musicians (Italy, South Africa, Peru, Venezuela and Ireland), but also a new way to merge the rich textures of Peruvian rhythms with the finesse and spontaneity of Jazz.
Formed in 2011, Phisqa avoids the traditional ways in which Peruvian rhythms have been merged with Jazz.
Phisqa is by Chris Engel on Saxes, Julien Colarossi on Guitar, Leopoldo Osio on Piano, Cormac O’Brien on Double Bass and Cote Calmet on Drums and compositions.

Kavorka is Dublin based contemporary Jazz group.
Kavorka were established in 2010, formed by upcoming jazz musicians based in Dublin, Ireland. The band made its debut at the Bray Jazz Festival in May 2011 and have since performed regularly on the Irish jazz scene and abroad. The group`s repertoire is original material, mainly composed by saxophonist Peter Dobai. The variety of different nationalities in the band gives the foundation of their unique sound. The aim of Kavorka is to further develop its own style and sound through the elements of contemporary classical, eastern-European folk and drum and bass music unified in the jazz idiom. The group has recorded its debut album early 2012, expected to be launched by later this year.
